Course Session Creation

To quickly create course session for delivering your published course, follow these steps

• From the course editor page, click on the schedule button in the toolbar. You will see this button only when course is in Published state (not in re-edit). You can do these steps from the Course Details page also
• Now from the dialog select one of the options to schedule the course as explained below

• Create Default Program - this is the simplest method to share your course with users, what it does is following
  
  • Creates a program in the group and adds the course in it. The program type used for new progam is Default, which prohibits multiple default programs to be created in the same group, for this course. So essentially, we just get a wrapper program for the course (because thats how all courses can get delivered)
  • For the selected start/end dates, it creates a course session (which is same as class, in other LMSes)
  • If you have selected the Add Group Members option, then it adds members having Learner role in the group, into the course session

• Create New Program - if you like to create a bundle of multiple courses, then you should select this option. You can now give a name to the created program. The program type used in this case is Training. Everything else remains same, so you get a course session as per the dates you have selected. If you decide to add more courses in the program, you can do that later.

• Add to Existing Program - if you have already create a program before in any group, then this option allows you to pick those programs and add another course in it. After adding the course, it creates a new program session and which in turn creates course session for all courses in the program.
  
  • If the course's access level is Site, then you can select any program in any group where you are an admin or instructor, and the particular course is not already added in it
  • If the course's access level is Private, then you can only select programs from authorized groups for the course

• Create new Program Session - this method can be used when you have already added the course in a program, and all you want to do is to create new Program/Course session for the specified dates.
