Punjab Medical Entrance Test is an examination conducted each year for admission to various medical courses namely MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS in all the medical, dental, Ayurvedic/Homoeopathic Institutes across Punjab. Punjab Medical Entrance Test is conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot on behalf of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar.

Eligibility criteria:

1. The appearing candidate must have cleared class 12th examination from a recognized board or any other equivalent examination.
2. The candidate must also have studied PCB in the last 3 years of education.

Proposed important dates:

1. Mid may 2009 – availability of application forms.
2. First week of june 2009 – deadline for submission of application forms.
3. Third week of june 2009 – date of entrance examination.

Examination pattern and syllabus:

1. The duration of examination is 2.5 hours.
2. The exam will contain 50 questions each from Physics, chemistry, botany, zoology
3. +4 for correct answer
4. -1 for wrong answer
5. The examination will contain MCQs based on class 12th syllabus.
