Open learning items can be arranged in a playlist, playlist provides a easier way to arrange lessons in a list that can be presented in predefined order when needed. There are three types of playlist -
- Featured playlist (Site level)
Site admins can create playlists those can be made available for all users as systems featured playlists.
- Featured playlist (Group level access)
Playlists can be authorized for group access only so that it will be available only for authorized group's members only
- My playlist
All users can create their own playlists and it will be available to the user only who has created that list.
View Playlists/Create Playlists
Site admins can access playlist page, That lists site's all featured playlists,group level playlists and my playlists. Listing page provides various search filters like name/metadata values etc. Download options are also available to download playlists.
Create featured playlist option is available in courses menu block.
It opens playlist editor to create a playlist, enter name of the playlist. A logo can be added for playlist, that will appear in openlearning playlist panel.
Playlist content
Content tab provides option to add lessons in this playlist or remove an existing item from the playlist using X icon. Items position can be arranged manually by dragging items row and placing in the right position. playlist lessons can be sorted by name (asc/desc order).
A metadata tag icon is available to tag playlist with metadata values. Save playlist once changes are made.
Playlist Authorization
Playlist can be authorized for all site users or for selected groups only. If a playlist is authorized for groups only, it will show up in group playlist panels for authorized group's members.
Editing Playlists :
For editing a playlist, Access playlist page and search for the playlist that you want to update. A edit icon in available to open playlist edit page, that provides option to add/delete playlist content, add logo, metadata tagging and manage authorization.
Creating playlist from Open Learning Player
When site admin access Open Learning player, Playlist + options opens a popup for creating playlist or adding item in playlist.
- Popup provides option to add the current item in an existing my playlist or featured playlist.
- Popup provides option to create a new my playlist or featured playlist.
- Create Playlists tab - Enter the name for new playlist and select the type to create new playlist.
- My Playlist tab - provides list of existing my playlists and using + icon user can add current OL item in the playlist.
- Featured Playlist tab - provides list of existing featured playlists and using + icon user can add current OL item in that playlist.
Creating My Playlist
Open Learning player page provides an option to create playlist and add item in existing/new playlist.
