User Profile Customization

EduBrite provides ways to enable optional attributes (both built in as well as admin defined custom ones) in user profile. This can only be enabled by the admin and cannot be turned off by any learner.

 

Enabling Built In Attributes

From the Site Admin -> Site Details -> Social tab you can enable Social Profile for users.

Once enabled, users will be able to add some additional information from their Accounts and Settings (Accounts -> Accounts & Settings) page.

 

Adding Custom Attributes

You can add custom attributes by specifying them in USER_CUSTOM_PROPERTIES property in the Site Admin -> Site Details -> Customizations tab. To add multiple custom attributes, simply enter comma separated attribute names. This is the simplest and quickest way to add a few attributes. However you cannot control advanced features like type of the attribute, whether mandatory or optional, whether searchable in the list page etc. For having the advanced control refer to Custom Attributes (Advanced) article.

 

These custom attributes will then be available on the User account edit page and also the new user creation page (for the admin to set values).

 

Users (including learners) will then be able to set these custom attributes on their own Accounts and Settings page.

User's public profile page will display these custom as well as social attributes besides the regular information which is displayed by default.

Also, these custom attributes would be visible for each user in the site user list page (Site Admin -> Site Users). Administrators would also be able to filter the list page using one or more of these custom attributes. The search and display of the custom attributes in the list page are restricted to the first 3 attributes as defined in USER_CUSTOM_PROPERTIES. Attribute ordering in USER_CUSTOM_PROPERTIES would result into the ordering of these parameters in the search fields display.
