Course Description and Other content

You can use several content tools to add the necessary descriptions and other resources to a course.

1. Description

The description field is meant for showing a small blurb about the course in list pages (e.g. catalog). You should ideally limit the description to 250 characters, although the system doesn’t limit you from entering a longer description. The description should also be just plain text without any HTML tags. Description is entered from the course editor.

2. Logo

From the course editor, you can add a logo for course.

3. Big Banner placement

To add detailed info about the course, which would be available to learners in the catalog before they enroll, use the Big Banner placement. Open the course details page (from Course list->Open course details by clicking on the name of the course). Click on Big Banner placement. Add any rich formatted description, add images, change colors, etc in the editor and create an informative and appealing page, which learners can access from catalog.

4. Payment Info

Just like big banner, payment info is meant to be shown on the catalog details page. You can enter anything like payment options, or instructions for the payment.

5. Learning Objectives

In this placement, you can describe the learning objectives of the course. Again, the full editor is provided which can be used to add details to the course.  The learning objective is shown on the catalog details page (before enrollment), as well as on-course session’s overview page (after enrollment).

6. Customized Panels

You can also add custom panels on the course session overview page by adding Profile Sections from the course details. Click on +Profile Session button and enter title and rich text content, which will become a panel on course details, catalog details, and Course Session’s overview page

Placements at the Course Session level

All the placements are also available on the course session level. To add placement content go to the course session details page. Placement content added at Course Session level will overwrite course level content.
