  • Once installed, all users of the domain can access the application
  • Single sign on with Google
  • Automatic user account creation in LMS when a user launches the app
  • Import of users from Google domain can be performed by the admins

Installation Instructions

Step 1

Begin the new app installation in your google domain. First login as domain administrator and then from the google mail settings menu, click on Manage this Domain

Then click Apps

Then click Marketplace Apps.

Click on + icon to add a new App.

Step 2: Find EduBrite in the Google Apps Marketplace and Click on Install

Step 3: Accept the permission authorization request, EduBrite needs just read only permissions, and it never writes (updates/deletes) anything in Google domain. Continue with next two steps in the dialog, till you reach step 3 of 3

Step 4: Click on the Complete additional setup now (its important step, otherwise you won't be able to launch the app).

That's about it, you are thru with all the steps. You should see a microsite gets created for your organization. We use your google domain prefix to reserve the microsite url on EduBrite. E.g. if your domain was xyz.com then we create microsite with url xyz.edubrite.com or xyz-com.edubrite.com (if first is already taken).

Your site will start with 14 days free Trial plan that has all features of EduBrite. At any time, you can sign up for a paid plan by Clicking on the Payment button. (check out the pricing page here)

When you install the app, we also create username in EduBrite using your email id. E.g. if your email was jdoe@xyz.com then your account's username will be jdoe@xyz.com. You will be the owner of microsite in EduBrite. You don't need to have any password as long as you want to access the app from within Google's App menu.

Step 5: Domain User creation in LMS

For creating account of other users in your domain, you have an option to do it yourself (as admin) or you can skip or do it later. Users will be able to access the EduBrite App from the Google App menu. If their account wasn't already created, EduBrite will automatically create their user account using their Email id. This process is called auto provisioning.

But you can also import users from your domain and create their account in EduBrite, without having to wait till users themselves open the application. To do this, in LMS open the Users->Upload Users page. And click on the Import Users from Google link. On next screen you will see user list from Google domain. Select the users from the list and click Add to Microsite button.

If you get any error in seeing the domain users listing, then go to google apps and open Manage this Domain->Security->API Reference->API Access. Make sure you have enabled the API access for any app to use Google Admin APIs. Note that this setting is not specific to EduBrite. If you had ever enabled the API access before, then you won't need to do it again. Also, if you do not want to import users into LMS then also you don't need this setting enabled.
