Aggregate Tracking

Course content like lesson/SCORM can be shared across multiple courses by linking the lesson/SCORM from the source course (where it was originally created). Lesson linking allows re-usability, which enables the lesson content to be managed in one place only. If any change is needed, it can be done in one place and that will be reflected in all the courses where that particular lesson/SCORM is linked. A test/survey can also be linked to multiple courses.

A user could be enrolled in multiple course sessions of the same course or different courses having same linked item. If user completes a lesson/SCORM/test in one course session, that item's completion status gets reflected in other course sessions as well, so that user need not retake same item again in different course sessions. In order to achieve this completion tracking, course session setting 'Aggregate tracking' should be enabled.

If 'Aggregate tracking' is enabled in a course session having a linked item, user's item completion in any other course session will be tracked in this course session as well. (Note: Completion status will be tracked in a course session only if the user is enrolled in that course session at the time of item completion in any other course session. If user is later enrolled in a new course session that has same item that user had completed earlier as part of other course session, that item's completion will not get tracked).

Example Course-1, Course-2, and Course-3 has same lessons/SCORM/Test and Aggregate tracking is enabled in Course session-2.

If user is enrolled in course session of first two courses (Course session-1 and Course session-2), Items completion in Course session-1, will be reflected in Course session-2 transcript and course player outline. If user has completed Course-2's all the mandatory items through other courses, Course session-2 will be marked completed.
