Enrollment in group on coupon use

Course session free access can be setup for members of a group by creating a group specific coupon. Coupon code can be set so that when a user uses a coupon code to enroll is a specific course user will be added in the coupon associated group.

Two scenarios are described below to cover 'Paid' Course session and 'By Invite' Course Sessions.

A. Course session Access Type 'Paid'

 1. Create a course session as 'Paid' by selecting Access Type as paid. Fill all payment information - Amount,Payment Type etc.

 2. Create a full value Coupon for a Group -  When creating the coupon for a group, select Custom flag3

  a. Access Course Session Coupon Code tab

   b. Click Create Coupon Code button -

     Specify Full value discount,

    Group Name that should be allowed to use this coupon.

    Select Custom Flag3 - To auto enroll members in the coupon associated group when user uses this coupon   (Custom Flag3 Label is changed as ' On Coupon use add member to group associated with coupon.').

  b. Get the Coupon Code link -

     Course session overview page Coupon code tab lists all coupons - Click Coupon name link to get coupon details.

    Coupon Code details - Full and tiny both urls are listed. Send this url to learner. When user will use coupon code url to enroll in the course, user will be added   in the group and enrolled in the course session.

B. Course Session Access Type 'By Invite'

In a scenario when you don't want to list course session in the catalog and want learners to enroll in the course session by coupon code link only. Create a course session using Access Type as 'By Invite'

Create Coupon Code - Follow the same process as described in Paid Course Session scenario to create a full value coupon code for a group and select Custom flag3 to Auto enroll users in coupon associated group.

Update Custom Label - If you want to update lable for coupon code custom flag3

Access Site admin - placements - CUSTOM_LABELS - Edit

Add a custom label like below - then save and publish
